Beltline & Proposed Westside Park (2011)
Click on Picture to see a 3 minute video about the proposed Westside ParkAtlanta's westside has a huge, hidden, hole in the ground! So big, it could hold 30 days of the city's water supply. Faithful employees at the City Dept. of Watershed Management guided the purchase of the Bellwood Quarry a few years ago. Other hardworking, creative folks have been steadily advancing other big plans that could make the spot an amazing oasis for Atlanta's current and future residents. In April 2011, Brian Leary, the CEO of The Atlanta Beltline pictured to the left, hosted CityLights at the quarry's edge. We heard an update on the Beltline project and saw a glimpse of what may become the city's largest park.
